Idea of narrative structure

Narrative structure is generally described as the structural framework that underlies the order and manner in which a narrative is presented to a reader, viewer or listener.
After discussing the narrative structure of our short film, we have decided on the following factors. Firstly, our film will be in chronological order; however it will be set throughout a series of different days with various time lapses that are obvious to the audience. Editing our film will effectively create these time lapses, a very important aspect of our film. In context of our short film, all the scenes will be set during the day or at dusk. This is because a change of day will be clear to the audience if each scene looks slightly darker and then lighter. We will also use various settings for each scene, to emphasise the characters desperation and the measures he will go to find and stalk his ex- girlfriend and to make the short film ultimately more interesting to watch. Finally, the whole film will be in perspective of our main character and his perception of the film’s plot.
